The Rumpshaker 5K

This past weekend several 6th graders from Westminster along with three teachers ran in the Rumpshaker 5K. The proceeds of the run go to benefit colon cancer awareness. Lisa and Logan were in that group of runners. The Westminster team finished in 3rd place overall. Lisa and Logan did great and I'm proud of them both. Lisa finished with a time of...well lets just say she finished. :-) Logan's time was 22:14. I am so proud of him. Below are a few pictures from the event.

Spring Break

Wow...what a week. It's hard to believe that spring break is over. We loaded up the car and headed south to begin our spring break this year. We spent several days with Grammy and Grand-daddy on the farm. The kids had a blast as usual. They rode horses, fed the cows, and ran wild. We even did a little fishing. On Wednesday we loaded the vehicle again and drove north for mountains of north Georgia to visit MiMi and Pops. We had an awesome time there as well. Thursday we went to the Georgia Aquarium. The kids loved hanging out with MiMi and Pops. We left on Saturday to drive home but got sidetracked when we stopped to visit some old friends (shout out to Tina and J.R.) An hour stop turned into an overnight stop. We finally made it back home today. It was a great week and lots of memories were made. Below are some of the pictures from the trip. I'll try to post more pictures later.

T-Money and Mama Hen

T-Money looks like she is about to scissor kick JR in the back of the head. You can tell JR is thinking if he says the wrong thing she'll be on him like a spider monkey.

Snow Day

We had a day of snow a couple of Sunday's ago. I'm just now getting around to posting the pictures. We got up, went to Church, and then came home to play in the snow. We had a great time. Of course we had a snow ball fight and then built a snow man. As you can tell from the pictures, after the snow man was built all of snow was gone.

Roman Mega Day

Anna Rebekah's class recently had Roman Mega Day at school. Each student had to make their own toga. The students enjoyed a feast together as well as several other Roman traditions such as fencing, crafts, and reciting poems. During the feast Anna Rebekah ate octopus and squid.

Trip to MacBea Holler

We recently took a trip to MacBea Holler. Uncle Thomas was back in the country visiting from Thailand so we took the opportunity to get the family together. The kids love to go to MacBea Holler. There is so much to see. It's actually Uncle Art and Aunt Bea's place. As you can see from the pictures below it's like stepping back in time.
